Market pulse — why this window matters

What the primary market is telling SME promoters right now

  • 2025 was India's biggest IPO year ever — 100+ mainboard issues raised ₹1.53 lakh crore, led by Tata Capital, HDB Financial and LG Electronics India.
  • SME listings are outperforming mainboard in 2026 — +5.64% vs +1.68% average listing gains, and the year's best debut (+99.5%) is an SME.
  • But selectivity is back — nearly half of 2026's issues listed at or below issue price. Well-prepared, well-priced companies get rewarded.
  • Mega names are queuing up — NSE, Jio, Zepto and PhonePe will pull fresh investor attention into primary markets.

Could your company be next on this board?

IPO FAQs

Questions promoters ask us

What is the difference between an SME IPO and a mainboard IPO?
SME IPOs list on dedicated platforms — NSE Emerge and BSE SME — designed for companies with post-issue paid-up capital up to ₹25 crore. Compliance requirements and issue sizes are proportionate to smaller companies, and successful SMEs can later migrate to the mainboard.
How long does an SME IPO take?
For a well-prepared company, typically 4–6 months from mandate to listing — covering financial assessment, restructuring, DRHP drafting, exchange approval, subscription and listing day.
How much does my company need to raise for an SME IPO to make sense?
Most SME issues raise between ₹10 crore and ₹50 crore. The right size depends on your growth plan, valuation and market appetite — our IPO valuation simulation report answers exactly this before you commit.
What does Funding Touch actually do in the process?
Everything except being your merchant banker — we assess and prepare your financials, produce the valuation simulation, coordinate the merchant banker, registrar, legal counsel and market maker, manage SEBI/exchange compliance, and steer the issue through subscription to listing.
Do promoters lose control after listing?
No. Most SME IPOs dilute 25–35% of equity. Promoters retain management control, subject to standard lock-in provisions on their holdings post listing.
